You can live up to the Golden Rule like Jesus did.

In this episode of At the Intersection with Doug Newton we learned that the Golden Rule (aka the Law of Reciprocity) is found in all religions and moral philosophies throughout history. Yet we assume there must be something unique about the way Jesus advocated it. Sure enough, He raised the bar higher than ever and taught it should "kick in' precisely when we are not being treated in the way we "would have" people treat us.

The exercises in this Crosswalk guide will help you position yourself in prayer and practice noticing and not rationalizing in those moments when you are called to follow His teaching about the Golden Rule. You will find this not only requires alertness, with the help of the Holy Spirit, but also courage and perseverance to act.

Want to build your courage?

HERE'S A TRAINING MODULE THAT CAN GET YOU THERE

Courage vies for supremacy among the character traits, because most of the time making good choices requires facing challenges or difficulties that tempt us to shy away. You can't go wrong practicing courage. I'll show you how.

Need more power to persevere?

TRY OUT THIS MODULE

All of us could use more perseverance on occasion in our lives. The question is whether we need it more often than we have it to give. When you're facing hardships, or unexpected circumstances, or things taking a lot longer than you imagined, are you the kind of person who can just keep going? Most of the important things in our life involve a series of marathons, not sprints. Most people you live and work with need you to keep pressing through. Want to learn how to do that even under the toughest of circumstances? Check out this module.
